- BLUE DYE:
- 1/2 purple cabbage
- 1/4 cup blueberries
- YELLOW DYE:
- 2 tbsp turmeric
- Yellow onion skins from 2 onions
- RED DYE:
- Tops, bottoms, skin peels and stems from 4 beets
Boil just enough water to cover eggs. Add 2 tbsp vinegar and food scraps to make each dye color.
Deep Gold: Boil eggs in turmeric and onion dye.
Pale Yellow: Dip eggs in turmeric and onion dye.
Pink: Boil eggs in beet dye.
Blue: Boil eggs in cabbage and blueberry dye.
Lavender: Soak eggs in beet dye, 30 minutes. Follow with room-temperature cabbage and blueberry dye, 30 seconds.
Chartreuse: Dip eggs in turmeric and onion dye. Follow with dip in cabbage and blueberry dye.
Salmon: Soak eggs in turmeric and onion dye, 30 minutes. Dip in Beet Dye.
