- 2 frozen pie crusts, semi-thawed
- 7-8 Cripps Pink, Granny Smith or Braeburn apples peeled, cored, sliced 1/4" thick
- 3/4 cups sugar
- 1t cinnamon
- 1/4t ground ginger
- 2T cornstarch
- 2T flour
- 1/2t salt
- 2T butter, cut into small pieces
- 1 to 2T lemon juice
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In a medium mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients. Pour over sliced apples and toss. Add lemon juice and toss again. Arrange coated apples in one pie crust and dot with butter. Take second pie crust and remove from pan and gently place over apples. Seal two crusts together and cut a few small slits in the top crust to vent. Place on a cookie sheet and bake for 40-50 minutes or until top crust is lightly golden brown.
