Charitable Giving & Community Programs
Our communities are at the heart of everything we do, which is why at New Leaf Community Markets, we give back 10% of our after-tax profits to community programs that support our mission to nourish and sustain our community.
Our Envirotokens program began in 1993. Whenever you reuse a grocery bag at New Leaf, you’ll receive a 10¢ Envirotoken, which you can donate to one of six local nonprofits. Each month, we count up the tokens, convert them to cash, and send the donations to the beneficiaries. See a full list of current recipients here.
Is your organization interested in being considered for our Envirotoken program? Download the application here. Then return it directly to your nearest store or by email to email@example.com. Recipients are selected twice annually, but applications can be submitted anytime!
We are passionate about our community and to make sure our efforts have impact, we keep our focus on three key areas: K-12 education, environmental stewardship, and hunger relief. If you’d like to apply for a donation for your 501c(3) organization, please download and complete the application here. You can return it directly to your nearest store or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
School E-Cards Program
Our school e-cards program is a great way to support local education. When parents, teachers, or community members purchase a New Leaf Gift Card directly from their school, we give money back the school! You don’t need to do anything extra.
|Gift Card Amount||Dollars Donated to Schools|
To get set up with this program at your school, work with your school scrip coordinator to complete the application and return it directly to any New Leaf in Santa Cruz, Capitola, or Half Moon Bay. Questions? Email email@example.com
Senior Discount Days
On Wednesdays, our well-seasoned shoppers are eligible for a 10% discount on their whole purchase.
Are you 65-years-old or better? If so, we want to get you a discount card! Next time you are in any store, show your I.D. to your cashier and ask for a Senior Community Card to use every Wednesday!
Lend A Hand
We honor our staff’s commitment to doing more in their community. Each year, we give each of our staff up to 8 hours of paid time off to participate in community service, contributing to the work local nonprofits are doing.
